On April 30th a twelve-person C2 GPS Lower Rio team participated in the /Women Together/Mujeres Unidas “Walk in Her Shoes” 5K run/walk. The C2 GPS team received the “Most Team Spirit” award for 2022.
Women Together/Mujeres Unidas is a non-profit organization that serves as a safe haven for victims of family violence and provides services such as Rape Crisis Intervention, Counseling, Legal Advocacy, Community Education, and Battering Intervention & Prevention Programs. This organization provides annual Family Violence training to the Lower Rio team.
In addition, this organization was selected as one of our “community” initiatives and each July we host a clothing and personal hygiene drive to benefit Frida’s Thrift Store, whose proceeds benefit Women Together/Mujeres Unidas.
