C2 GPS wants to give a big shout out to all staff that helped enroll 100 youth customers with the “full-court press” Virtual Outreach while jump starting the Employ NV Youth Hub for our newest partner,  Workforce Connections of Southern Nevada. With the physical location still pending construction completion, and staff co-located with the College of Southern Nevada and the Clark County Juvenile Justice Harbors, our Nevada team launched a full-scale digital outreach and social media campaign using targeted messaging and multimodal strategies to  reach area youth and accelerate engagement in training scholarships and paid internships.

Staff posted, messaged, and texted  to create new outreach opportunities to provide career and work experience information to Nevada Youth and to enroll them in the WIOA Youth Program.  Career Advisors worked with the client to help them determine opportunities and career direction using the dedicated Employ NV Youth Hub website which lists all the available on-the-job training, paid work experience, paid internships, training scholarship opportunities available and provides user-friendly information about career pathways and in-demand occupations in Southern Nevada. Youth just have to fill out a simple interest form, where once submitted they are contacted by one of the Career Advisors.

The outreach also targeted community partners seeking to refer youth for services. “We do not have room for foot traffic in our temporary office space, so we had to establish strong partnerships in the community, the staff provided information at numerous job and resource fairs, we were present at every event scheduled – the Cinco De Mayo Fiesta, Las Vegas Metro Police Department Recruitment Fair, International Young Women Conference, and the HEAL Job Fair, to name a few,” stated Roselyn Noriega, Deputy Director of Employ NV Youth Operations and Partnerships. Staff worked to develop a strong referral process with the Clark County Juvenile Justice Program – HARBOR, a program designed to prevent youth from entering the juvenile justice system. Staff also worked on a plan with the YMCA to participate in a Las Vegas Raider Ambassadors Program.

Aaron Smith, Chief Operating Officer stated, “Getting Nevada youth ready to enter the workforce and helping them become aware of career ladders and workforce expectations is a critical resource to the community and we thank the C2 GPS staff that did not miss a beat in the Virtual Outreach push – Thank You!”
