• establish and maintain a budget based on family income,
• work with the banking system,
• establish credit history to make a major purchase i.e. car, house, etc.

C2 GPS is soliciting responses to provide TANF Subsidized STEM based Summer Camps for eligible Coastal Bend workforce region youth . The STEM based camps will focus on providing education and career exploration components and should utilize the various educational institutions, museums, and aquariums, etc. in the Coastal Bend region to show STEM occupational examples.

Youth should gain career exploration skills and learn about occupations they have not had the opportunity to explore. The STEM Summer Camp Initiative should provide youth with explanations of what occupations may be found in STEM areas, help develop interests, expand STEM knowledge and STEM career opportunities and career paths.

An estimated Thirty low-income youth will participate in the TANF Subsidized Summer Camp Initiative, youth will be between 10 and 18 years of age and meet the TANF/SNAP definition of “low income” (families are receiving TANF and/or SNAP benefits or other types of benefits). Workforce Solutions Coastal Bend will recruit youth from the local school districts. The STEM Summer Camp Initiative will not require a specific individual eligibility determination requirement, including income eligibility. The initiative’s planned outcomes are to help school aged youth with the opportunity to attend STEM summer camps allowing the youth to gain knowledge about STEM careers.

For the Summer Camp Initiative, vendors should provide the following information:

• Description of STEM topics proposed
• Camp format
• Duration and Number of hours per session(s)
• Any minimum or maximum participation or cohort size requirements and age served
• Detailed cost to provide camp indicate what is included in cost
• Date of proposed Camp Session(s)

Proposed STEM Camps may be existing, scheduled opportunities in which youth funded through this bid may participate alongside other youth.

C2 GPS is a private for-profit organization that currently manages ten (10) workforce services contracts for Workforce Development Boards / Workforce Investment Boards (WDB/WIB) in Texas, Florida and Nevada.  

The Workforce Solutions Alamo (WSA) Board serves as the governing board for the regional workforce system, a network of service providers and contractors that brings people and jobs together. Workforce Solutions Alamo serves the 13- county region that include: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, McMullen, Medina, and Wilson counties.  

C2 GPS and WSA are soliciting responses to provide summer programs that promote workforce and STEM knowledge (i.e., STEM-based summer camps) for low-income youth ages 16-24, including, in-school, out-of-school, opportunity, foster youth, and youth with disabilities.

The services must be reasonably priced and provide career oriented virtual reality experiences (apps/modules) that offer effective and innovative career exploration services to our customers. The VR for career exploration should be portable and easily transported to schools, partner agencies, job fairs, etc. to expand the services available through Workforce Boards beyond Career Centers. VR should provide an effective complement to traditional sources.
